understaffed and it will take 3 months to get someone to provide my son with

home based ABA or any kind of therapy.....what can i do?

I dont know the diagnosis of you child, but... this group helped with my

autistic son...

Check out the website

www.ctfeat.org

I browsed really quick and they have several links for many things... FEAT is

Families for Early Autism Treatment and when I first got started on this

road, they helped me out a lot here in CA... I hope they can help you as

well...

Do you have an IEP in place... if so and they are not honoring that, you can

sue the district for services. Just talk of that gets them moving faster in

some cases... also if they dont have an ABA... what about Occupational

Therapy or Speech or having them contract with an outside facility to get

your son the services he needs...

When I started this whole thing, someone told me that the sqeaky wheel gets

the grease... so sqeak and squack until you egt the help you need for your

son.

Triss

mom of Zack, 6 yrs, autistic

Here is a great yahoogroup for posting questions about IEPs and other legal

school-related stuff.

IEP_guide

You should try posting your question there. I highly recommend this list.

It's a very busy one, so get the " digest " version . . .
