Hi Kim, I think if you are not sure you should try to get a second opinion. That was what we did. Our ortho was telling us that our son was at 2 mm asymmetry after being in the helmet for 6 months. I ve read that at 2 mm you should not be able to see anything, but his head still looked lopsided and flat to me. We ve already taken to two other orthotists in the area. Both came up with 6 mm asymmetry instead of 2mm:((( so i quess, in my case i wasnot just seeing things. We are also flying to chicago to take him to CT. It sounds like they have a great reputation. so i really hope they got your son's measurements right!Please let us know if you get a second opinion!>> Hi Everyone,> I was hoping I could get some advice about treatment for my son. He graduated from the doc band today after 8 weeks (went to CT in Pasadena). The asymmetry in the back of his head measured at 2 mm and at 1 mm in the face. The OT at Cranial tech said that a second band would not guarantee improvement and that even if there was improvement, it would be so minimal that there would be no apparent change in his face. She also said a second band would take 3 or 4 months to make any changes at this point. She said that she does not recommend a second band. I still see asymetry in his face (he had a flat spot on the back right side of his head and the right side of his face still looks more forward to me). I am not sure if I am just "seeing things" and being paranoid, due to fear of missing the window of opportunity to fix it. Does any one have any thoughts or information on getting a second band when the child is in the "normal" zone. Has anyone experienced this?
