Hi .

We're in the same exact boat as you were. First band we got was at 7 1/2 months old and it made somewhat of a difference and now they recommend a second band but he's 12 months old and I'm afraid that it won't make enough of a difference to be worth it, both mentally and monetarily. Just curious, do you regret your decision ever or if you could do it all again knowing what you know now a year later, would you still have opted not to do the second band? Thanks for your opinion.

My son didn't get his DOC band until he was 9 months and at 12 months was reevaluated for a 2nd band. We also saw significant improvement with the first band, but he still had some deformity in his right side. I think the flatness was more obvious to us than it was to everybody else. CT couldn't guarantee his head would improve with the 2nd band, so we decided not to get it. He is now almost 2 and, while we notice some flatness, no one else notices. When their hair grows in more and gets thicker, it is much less noticeable. Hope this helps!

no, I don't regret it. I think I would have if I hadn't tried. It's not about me but the quality of another human beings life. I feel it's my job to make life as easy as I possibly can for them in so that little things like being made fun of are limited. My MIL keeps pointing out to me her daughter's head is crazy flat and how it's no big deal and I shouldn't worry. Well that daughter who is 40 still have to wear buns located in certain areas to cover it up and she is very aware of it being there. No it's not the end of the world.. but if it's one less thing she has to worry about I'm going to try even if there's just some hope. At least I tried. Kim1st band at 17m. Now 19m and have gained 4mm to flat side. Down to 7 from 11.From: Gidwani <jennifergidwani@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Tue, November 30, 2010 7:10:04 PMSubject: Re: Re: Any recomendations on a second DOC band?
