Guest guest
I hate to hear you had such a poor experience. My daughter outgrew her band in 8 weeks and we saw great improvement in that short period of time with CT! Although there was still room for improvement we could not afford a second band either and CT was great about really bragging on her progress and assuring me she was okay, even though they would have recommended a second band if I could have afforded it. They knew graduation day was bittersweet for us and they really tried to keep a very positive spin on things and just kept praising her and us for how well the last 8 weeks went, and we did agree the 8 weeks went really good. I am assuming Jake is younger since he outgrew the band fast, so I am surprised the numbers weren't a little different. My daughter went from a CI of 103 to 92 in 8 weeks and was growing like a weed. And now that is has been several months since she graduated from her DOC Band, we are very happy we didn't waste money or time on a second. Her head looks better and better with all the hair she is getting. Maybe you should talk to CT. I know of a person who got their second band price reduced! But from my experience I felt like my daughter's head has improved with time. > > Okay, so my son Jake has plagio and bracy, probably mild to moderate case. We saw everyone's posts and felt like CT was a best way to go and would give me the most peace of mind. They told us in te beginning that he probably wouldn't need a second band and tat he will probably wear it for around 3 months. Well, I don't really know what happened but basically they are now saying that he has outgrown the band and will need anoter one to finish correcting. I'm irritated and confused because if the faster he grows the more improvement we will see then wy aren't we seeing more of an improvement???? His beginning measurements were :Cephalic index 92.6, Cranial Vault Asymmetry 9, Mid-face Asymmetry 2, and Skull base Asymmetry 3. The head wasn't terrible to begin wit but needed to be addressed, now that he's " graduated " aka, grown out of the helmet so tough luck, his measurements changed to Cepalic index: 90.3, Cranial Vault Asymmetry 5, Mid-Face Asymmetry 1, and no cange in the skull base asymmetry.. So if He grew out of te helmet, wouldn't we have seen more of an improvement?? and I was really disappointed with our tech, she seemed so insensitive wen I was asking about other treatments because we can't afford another band, insurance didn't pay a dime and then handed me te graduation certificate wen I was clearly upset and unhappy, I just felt like this was tacky and inconsiderate. Let me know wat you think and if anyone has had a similar experience. Thanks. >
Guest guest
How old was your son when he started? And how many weeks has he worn his DOC Band? My son outgrew each DOC Band in 8 weeks (he wore 2) and had great improvement in head shape. Since you have not seen much correction, I can understand being upset. While I had an excellent experience with Cranial Tech and a good outcome for my son, I went into knowing that he was very young when he started (4.25 months) and that he'd probably need a 2nd band due to the severity of his brachy. I'd consider contacting their corporate office and have them review your son's case. I'm not saying they'll do anything, but it's worth a try. Wishing you the best, Robyn mom to DOC Band Grad, April 2010 > > Okay, so my son Jake has plagio and bracy, probably mild to moderate case.
