Guest guest
, Are you kidding? I see *great* changes in the back-left -- up high, too, which seems to be a difficult area for many of us. The pics from behind (middle row of second sheet) show not only clear aesthetic results, but I would say 1:1 correlation between improved plagio and improved tort. I think I would get a second band. Not because the remaining deformity is so terrible, but because she's still young, still got the tort, and I'd be *very* encouraged by the results so far. Step it up a notch and get a DOC band if you can, now that the broad strokes have been taken care of, and you'll be done again in half the time. -- Thad Launderville Montpelier, VT Clara age 2, STARband grad (8/09 - 3/10) On Apr 9, 2010, at 12:14 PM, star122802 wrote: > Nevaeh is done with her band. Guest guest
I guess I didn't put it right...we do see great improvement but I feel like we can have more. The band she was in still fits her so can't we put it back on her? I looked into the doc band the closet place is in Miami which is 4+ hours away. I don't know how we would be able to do that with 3 kids and with our budget. We are also scared about our insurance and if they would pay for another band. I wish they had a place closer. Any suggestions? Thanks, Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryFrom: Thad Launderville <p38thadl@...>Date: Sat, 10 Apr 2010 00:20:29 -0400<Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: No more band ,Are you kidding? Guest guest
Yeah, I'm in the same boat with 3 kids and 4 hours' drive: we didn't go, either. (Attn. Cranial Tech executives: Burlington, VT, consistently rated one of the most livable cities, and #1 for raising kids: http://www.childrenshealthmag.com/parents/The-best-and-worst-places- to-raise-a-family.php Miami may need you, but does it *deserve* you?) It's a closer call then, but again, your results so far are impressive! I'd go again with the current provider. They can only build so much correction into each helmet, I think, balancing the future goal with an effective fit in the short-term. So if they say you're done, you're probably done. Keep it until the new one is made, though. -- Thad On Apr 10, 2010, at 1:43 PM, star122802@... wrote: > > > I guess I didn't put it right...we do see great improvement but I > feel like we can have more. Guest guest
I see the biggest difference from the birds eye view. Yes, the tort seems to be getting better as well. In terms of another, band, I'm not really sure. It does seem that you are not happy with the results. Was it a STARband? I don't know that company. Did the baby outgrow the band? If not, then why not put the original band back on for a few more weeks. It looks to me that you would be really close to being done. , mom to , 2.5 years STARband grad May 2009 No more band Nevaeh is done with her band. I just got the reports and pics from the doctor and I really on't see that much difference other than it looks like her torticollis is getting better. I can't help feeling like she still needs the band. Can anybody tell a difference? Should I see about getting another band? Guest guest
, You paid for the band so you should be allowed to keep it on until you feel that you are done. Call the provider back and tell them that you'd like more correction. I really think it would only take another month or so. You could drive all the way to CT, but I'm not sure that this a case where that is needed, especially given the added stress that it would put on your budget and your family. The band and the ortho are obviously adequate because of the improvement that you have gotten so far. So, stick with it and get those last few weeks in. , mom to , 2.5 years STARband grad May 2009 Re: No more band ,Are you kidding?
