Guest guest
Our daughter measured at 104% I believe and ended up at 92% after 7-8 weeks in a DOC Band. She was 5 months old when she started. I know people who banded when their child started at 92% so I felt bad for not getting a second band, yet at the same time I felt some major problems had resolved in those few short weeks such as the bulge above her ears really seemed to improved, although they can't push it in TH new length made it look better, her face was more proportioned to her head, the height her head had seemed much better- not so coney! And of course her head was really starting to roud out. Now that it has been 5 months since she graduated I am so glad we didn't get a second band. Her head looks great and the more hair she gets the rounder her head looks- I can't tell of it's actually rounding out more or not. Also her head isn't getting wider which i was scared of. My experience and pictures are documented in my blog: www.leopardorpolkadots.blogspot.com It's during sept-nov I believe! Good luck. I am sure you'll get great results at 8 month of age! Keep is updated! > > I was just wondering if anyone has/had a little one with CI over 100%? My son Ian was measured by the physical therapist at 102% and by the Cranial Tech evaluation at 105%. He has brachycephaly with mild torticollis. The torticollis is much better now that he is in physical therapy, and we are getting his band by the end of the month. He'll be 8 months old at that time. > > I'm still a bit new to plagiocephaly/brachycephaly, so any information provided is definitely appreciated. If yours had numbers similar to mine, how did it turn out? Thanks very much! > > Fran >
Guest guest
Thank you, . That was actually the kind of news I was looking for. Our insurance won't cover the DOC Band at all so all of it would be out of pocket, which would be a LOT if we had to get a second one. I think that if Ian has improvement similar to your daughter's, I would be very thankful. I will be checking out your blog. Guest guest
Hi Fran, My son had a CI of 102% prior to beginning his treatment. He was banded at five months and wore a Hanger helmet for four months. He graduated last month with a CI of 91%. I think he looks fabulous, and we have received so many compliments on the improvement of his head shape. I will say that in recent days, especially after having read some of the posts regarding " normal " CI measurements, I've been second-guessing my decision to not get a second band. He's 10 months old, so I think we still have time to change our minds (I'm meeting with our orthotist this week), but even if we don't, the change we have seen thus far has made a HUGE difference in his appearance. Best of luck with your son's treatment. > > > > > > I was just wondering if anyone has/had a little one with CI over 100%? Guest guest
, Thank you for sharing your experience. As I'm sure you know, it's so much to take in, especially with a hurried timeline. Can you update me on your next orthotist appointment to see what he recommends? I'm not looking for perfection but results similar to your son's. (Especially since I think my boy is already super cute! =P ) I really appreciate your support. Fran > > Hi Fran, > > My son had a CI of 102% prior to beginning his treatment.
