I am a fairly new member here as well.

I really, really, really think that it would be most beneficial for

you and for your child for you to talk about the DAN! protocol here.

Let's talk about the DAN! protocol.

Thank you, I agree. I found this website to be so informative and the

thought of having to leave was dissapointing. AND I PROMISE TO EVERY

MEMBER, THAT I WILL NEVER GET CAUGHT UP IN THE POLITICAL STUFF HERE.

EVEN IF SOMEONE WRITES SOMETHING I DO NOT AGREE WITH I WILL NOT

RESPOND. I think that only adds fuel to the fire. I am so ready to

talk about the DAN protocal and supplements, diet and chelation as I

am new here and we are just getting started and awaiting lab reports

from Great Plains. It is almost a month since I have sent in the test

and still waiting for results. My DAN docter said should not be much

longer. AND I ALSO PROMISE TO EVERYONE I WILL ALWAYS BE RESPECTFUL OF

ALL OF YOU, EVEN IN TIMES OF DISAGREEMENT. Because I would want the

same. So here's to a fresh start. Thanks Dee.

P.S. Hi Andy, I will give this site one more try. I think your

Hi Dee,

I'm glad that explained that there is no official DAN protocol

(I copied her post below). What I have noticed is that some of the

advice that some people here have reported from some DAN! doctors can

be very harmful and dangerous.

Please do bring questions and concerns to this group. The people here

are an incredible resource.

Sidney Baker, MD, a DAN! bigwig, caring physician, and healer of

autistic kids via a biomed approach states that there is NO official

DAN! protocol.

I offer that several protocols for evaluation and treatment have

blossomed forth from the DAN! movement, and those procedures for eval

and treatment have been informed from many sources, including Andy C's

book, ACEM conferences, Cave's decade+ of biomedical

treatments based upon lab-data etc.

The book Children with Starving Brains offers a protocol strongly shaped

by physicians, researchers, and parents who participate in DAN!

conferences and by other folks who are biomed oriented whether or not

those folks have even attended a DAN! conference.

In contrast, Andy offers an approach to chelation; Dr. Buttar offers yet

another.

While there is NO *official* DAN! protocol, there are protocols (i)

strongly informed by the DAN! movement (eg, CSB's protocol) or (ii)

similar to the biomed eval and treatment used by DAN!-oriented

physicians (who are a small subset of the physicians listed as having

attended a DAN! conference).

know of any reason for you to need to, unless you want to.

well, if you post lots about those things, perhaps that will

help to move some discussions along that are on topics of

mutual interest to many here.
