My son was diagnosed with severe oral and verbal apraxia two years

ago. He just lost his dx!!! He still has some articulation issues

when speaking in full sentences though. We have done 67 rounds and he

That's just fabulous! CONGRATS and kisses to your son! I can't tell

you how happy we are for you! Our duaghter is also apraxic -- verbal

and motor -- and I started my quest on an apraxia list that

eventually lead me here.

Can you tell us what you chelated with and -- important for menow --

if you had a hair strand test done and what it revealed? Ours just

came back and Lulu seems to be fairly healthy with some question

marks I hope others will help me figure out (I just posted it

earlier today, if you're interested in looking at it). No idea if

we should try a post-challenge urine test to see if that would

reveal more.

Best,

Theresa

Alan:

I'm sorry, did I miss something? I don't remember asking about TD-DMSA, but

thanks for the info. BTW DAN! drs don't like us as we wouldn't automatically

take our little one off of milk and wheat. They really wouldn't like it that we

turned out to actually know her and were right about it! Imagine that, hardly

believable!!

We also don't have any problem with gut/yeast issues (knock on wood and all the

trees on our 30 acres of forest) so would not use the TD modalities, with the

exception of the TD-DMPS if we saw a slow down on the other chelators.

But again, thanks for the information. I will keep it in mind.

I follow Andy's protocol with DMSA/ALA.

We started with DMSA only, 4 mg every 4h for 3 days. After 12 rounds

we added ALA. At round ~45, we dropped the DMSA and continued with

just ALA.

My son's hair test showed very high mercury and also met two of the

counting rules. This was before we started chelation. The mercury in

his hair was coming from current exposure (seafood) and that's why we

waited 3 months before introducing ALA.

We did a metal urine test during his first round, which showed

absolutely nothing... The best way to know if your child is likely to

benefit from chelation is to actually try it for 5 or 6 rounds.
