In the January issue of O Magazine (pg 79) is an article called, " The Scoop on

Fish Oil Supplement. " A company called ConsumerLab.com did a so called

independent evaluation of fish oil supplements because of worrisome pollutants

stated as PCBs and mercury. The fish oil products were chosen randomly and

others at the request of the supplements' manufacturers (who paid subsequently

paid for the lab work). Guess what?! Not one brand contained detectable levels

of PCBs or mercury. The full report is available (with subscription) at

ConsumerLab.com. O readers will receive a 25% discount if mentioning the

article. I hope people can read between the lines on this one and see that is

truly was not an " independent " study if the lab work was paid for by the fish

oil manufacturers. ConsumerLab probably paid for this layout as advertising

space too, as they offer a discount. I was surprised that they did not list

their products in the article. We only use OmegaBrite and Nordic Naturals for

our 3

yr old asd son. I understand those are put through the best distillation

process.

P.S. Temple Grandin has an article in the same issue on page 88, about her

latest book, Animals in Translation: Using the Mysteries of Autism to Decode

Animal Behavior.
