Guest guest
I would contact the office manager or corporate office with a clear list of the chain of events detailed with names and dates. Don't get upset/emotional on the phone, the more under control you sound the more seriously they will take you. From: fernandastephani <fernandastephani@...>Subject: Craniel Tecnologies took band away before treatment!!!Plagiocephaly Date: Monday, August 18, 2008, 1:23 PM My daughter half way thru treatment got an infection due to the helmet, reason why I had to leave her without it for about 2 weeks,(this infection was over looked by the therapist for at least 2 appointments until finally our family Dr. told us) then when I went back to Craniel Tecnologies there was a NEW therapist and didn't give me correct instructions on putting the helmet back on my daughter and she developed an allergic reaction, and needed to have the helmet or doc band removed for a week or so. So finally when I went back they told me that the band doesn't fit her head anymore and if I want to continue treatment to pay $1,000 for another band. They say that I didn't show up to follow up appointments, which was when my daughter was off the band and the therapist had told me not to go until she had the band back on. Now they took the helmet away and want more money to continue treatment. I had bearly began to make payments for the one she had and now they want more. Guest guest
I'm not surprised that they took the band away. It can be detrimental to treatment and her head shape to wear a band that is too small, and I know CT is serious about parents following proper band protocol and will restrict the use of the band if they feel it's necessary. I believe you are the first to post about it though, so I can't give you any second-hand knowledge of what has happened in other similar circumstances. I guess on the bright side, I would say at least they are " only " going to charge 1000 for the new band rather than the full 3600 again. But I can understand your frustration. Which CT are you going to? I'm having a hard time understanding how an infection could be overlooked by the therapist. What kind of infection was it? I would think that any kind of skin irritation would be visible. Was CT aware of why you were not showing up for adjustments while she had the infection?
