Mustela shampoo worked for us to keep the most of the rash away. But if there is already a lot of rash I would apply a very thin layer of hydrocortisone cream (on the spots only) for couple days, and use Mustela in addition to it.

Is he sweating a lot? My daughter's went away fairly quickly (it was gone the next time I took the band off). I would call your dermotologist. Does he scratch that area when the band is off?

My sons skin is sooo bad to begin with it is very difficult to differentiate what is going on. How long did the heat rash last? Did it look like very very small bumps. I've been using hydrocortisone cream on him here and there because if not he gets bacterial infections. It kills me to use it but if not its another antibiotic.

At CT the OT told me I could put hydrocortisone (sp?) on the "heat rash" my daughter developed on the back of her head/neck. I didn't b/c that is a steriod and the "heat rash" wasn't that bad.> > >> > > My son Aiden just got his helmet and had red marks on his head in the target area.
