Re: Hanger vs DOC Band???

We had two failed Hanger Bands before we went to Cranial Tech. By

failed, I mean they just couldn't get it to fit properly. You can

see pics on the last page of the S folder under Shane. The second one

was actually far worse. Even when we worked together, both my husband

and I could barely get it open enough to get it on our son's head. We

didn't get to Cranial Tech until he was 9 months old. IMHO the

difference between the two products is very significant. There is a

weight difference as well as the amount the helmet is opened on top.

Also, the DOCBand fit was near perfect right from the start. My only

regret is waiting so long to get to CT. My son's growth slowed

dramatically after 9 months. I hope that this information helps you

make your decision.

Hi Lyndsi-

I can see you've gotten quite a lot of feedback already. I just

wanted to say that we went with CT even though they were out of

network for us and nearly 3 hours away. We have pretty good

insurance and the STARBand was covered at 90% because they were in

network, but I felt more confident going to CT, which would only be

covered 75%. I know I'm very lucky to have had out of network

coverage at all, so take it for what it's worth, but I highly

recommend CT.

I think it would help, with all the feedback you're getting about

Hanger, to post your location. Maybe someone has been to your exact

Hanger ortho and can really help.
