Hello,

We are new to the group. My son is 10 months old and will be fitted

at the CT in ndale next week. The CT in ndale (misnomer

because it is very near Fairfax Inova) worked very well with us. The

staff members were kind and very caring and understanding of my son's

situation.

Indeed, I was concerned we were getting a much later start than what

is ideal for treatment so I asked the clinician if we could get the

process going. During our first appointment at CT, we had our photos

taken, talked to the clinician, had measurements taken, talked to the

insurance lady via the telephone, paid for the band (as they don't

participate in BC/BS d*rnit), had our image taken for the band, and

scheduled our appointment for the fitting. Just by showing concern

for my son's care, I was able to condense 2 appointments into 1 and

save at least one weeks time.

I don't think this condensed schedule would work if you had them file

for your insurance claim (if applicable), but it might be worth

trying.

HTH,

Anne

Those pics look great! Tell me how long the helmet was worn... and what

was the original assymetry? just curious...

Leila,

I'm sorry. I was looking at the overall shape of her head, which

looks better than my son's currently. In comparison to what I see

evryday, I don't consider those to be that bad. I do see that there

wasn't a lot of change in head shape and I didn't see the

measurements on the page, but I'm sorry you've had a disappointing

experience. I just wanted to give you some positive feedback and my

opinion.

I think what the issue is, is that the starscan images (aerial view)

show that her head has grown equally in all directions over 3 months

time, which means the helmet has been ineffective. The severity of

her brachy is actually more evident in photos taken from the side. I

believe there are a number of those posted in the M folder, as well

as the 3D image from her scan.
