Guest guest
We are new to the group. My son is 7 1/2 months old and has been in his starband for one week. He did great with it up until 2 days ago when he developed a really bad red spot on his forehead that had swollen up like a welt. We went to have his helmet adjusted yesterday. I left it off last night because the spot was still bright red last night. I put it back on this morning for a few hours. The other areas of redness resolve quickly but the red spot is still pretty bad. It has not gotten to the point of open skin (which I am trying to avoid). I don't know if it is the helmet (as it has been adjusted) or just that the skin is irritated and needs to heal. The orthotist recommended continued wearing but checking every 2-3 hours. For those of you that had similar experience, how long did it take for the skin to heal and go back to normal so the baby could wear the helmet with little problems??
