Lyla is ten days from graduating her first band, as she has outgrown the pressures. CT is saying she is now within a normal range compared to the population at large. I still see room for improvement (primarily because she still has open space in the front left of her band to make her forehead even). There is also still a flat spot behind her right ear. CT says they too can see it and would be willing to band her again if we decide that's what we want. Problem is, I can't decide. She won't even be nine months old when she gets it off and I guess I'm afraid she'll sleep on that flat spot and we'll be back to square one. I've posted some photos in the " L " folder - last page Lyla Joy. I'm sorry there are several. I can't figure out how to delete the extras to stay within my five photo range. If you have to pay out of pocket, I personally would leave it how it is. I think she looks very good. I didn't see any of the back of her head though. Anyway at nine months is she still sleeping on her back? I wouldn't think it would get that much pressure now that she is older. Guest guest Posted August 15, 2008 Report Share Posted August 15, 2008 Sandy, I have looked at Lyla's pictures and although in most, I couldn't tell that she had plagio, I can still see it in two of them. I am no expert, but at nine months and still growing my feeling is that you could still see improvements if you opted for a second band. If she is still a back sleeper and still has a bit of a flat spot, there is regression to worry about. With a second band, unless your insurance doesn't pay for it, all you have to worry about is seeing more improvement. I can't speak for you, but as far as my Maysa is concerned, I am committed to go all the way with this treatment. If by the time she outgrows her helmet her ortho tells me that she could still benefit from a second one, then I'll go for a second one. There are times when I hate to see it on her head, but I couldn't deal with regression or the guilt of knowing that we could have made it look a little rounder and didn't go for it. Good luck!
