From what I was told he had a heat rash. Once his body was used to wearing the band, the rash went away. Is your son's band loose at all? If it is loose, it could be rubbing against his skin, and that could be causing the rash. What type of Band is your son wearing? You can always call your ortho or clinician (if you have a doc band) and ask if you need to bring your son back in. He is now 18 months old.I am wondering if anyone has problems with rashes, sean has a rash around on his forehead and by his ears. What is causing the rash? Also was wondering are there any other moms who child had to wear a helmet (band) around 's age too. I will really welcome any advice and what to expect? Guest guest Posted October 1, 2008 Report Share Posted October 1, 2008 My son had a lot of heat rashes. Dylan is a big sweater and it was especially fun during the heat of the summer. My ped. and our orthotist recommended just a regular hydrocortisone cream. We used just the 1% strength. Put on a thin layer. Also, make sure to wipe off his head and wipe out his helmet often (use alcohol 90% or more). Its really normally to get. Good luck!
