I think that every child is different, so I wouldnt worry too much. my daughter learned to sit while banded...she knew how to roll before she got the band. she is now 6 months old and had the band for 3 weeks.

I think that it does have a development delay. My Son Zach was banded at 5 months (In June) also and was not rolling over until about seven months and when the band came off in August ( he had it on for about 10 weeks) he was sitting up unsupported and crawling soon after. So try not to worry:) He was my second also and my first child was right on target with development with no helmet. It might take them longer but they will get there. I know that they say the helmet does not weigh much but it has to be heavy if you are only 12 pounds!:) Hope that helps!
