If it is still a problem, try taking Valerian root about a half hour

before the time to go to bed. It smells awful but is effective and does

not seem to have any adverse side effects. It is available everywhere,

even at Walmart.

Also, make sure you get out in the sun as early as possible in the

morning to keep your circadian rhythms in phase. That can be even more

important in the winter, but your sleep rhythms can still get out of

whack in the summer.

And, as someone else suggested, lay off the caffeine.

I didn't do it myself but many of my friends did have a regular bed time in

college. We all did sports socially and on teams. Two graduated with straight

A's in chemical engineering! They did drink a little caffeine but that was only

because the dining halls pushed soda back then over milk, juice or water.

What am I trying to say - , grandpa is right about his list (well,

I have heard about the supplement, not taken it) grin. If you want to see

better over all health I'd encourage you to press yourself into doing it.

Sleep problems, like so many other things can have probably hundreds of

causes. I've had them all of my 66 years except for about 6 months when

I followed this procedure:

1] Physical exercise [read WORK]

2] Regular bed time hours

3] Melatonin, 3 mg per night

4] Limited or no caffeine

I'm not recommending you follow the list; I'm just telling you my

experience. As a matter of fact I don't follow it either; and I have

problems sleeping. But when I DID follow it was the only time in my 66

years that I could go to bed and be asleep in a few minutes. Both

before and now I will sometimes lie awake in bed for many hours; even

until it gets daylight before I go to sleep.

Luck,

The caffeine effect for me seems strange. Sometimes I drink it and have

the tight, " can't sleep " feeling; other times I drink it and it seems to

have no effect at all. Now that I take 3 mg Melatonin nightly I never

have the excessive " hard wired, tired, can't sleep " symptom.

Then, at least limit it to morning. My personal rule is none after 3:00

p.m. That seems to allow sleep by bed time.

The half life for caffeine in a smoker is about 4 hours. In a

non-smoker, it is 6 hours.

My other thought is maybe you got a bad(generic) batch of meds.

They will always give generic unless you specify.Even then they will still

Good luck!

I'm not quite sure what is goin on here, maybe you guys can help me out. When

my Mom and I were on Synthroid we were tired all the time and my Mom suffered

Neither

can be thyroid related, is that what this is? Any input would be great!

The generic will smell different - more sour and fetid.

It will not have the " Armour A " on it. It will not have that same sweet

Armour taste, either. When I was on the generic for a week, I got

severe hypo symptoms and then raise holy h*ll with the pharmacy until I

got Armour.

If yo hae Armour, the label should say " Armour Thyroid " ,

not " Qualitest " .

My son is almost 5 months old and got his hanger helmet last week. He seems to

be adjusting to it slowly, but he will not sleep in it! I've tried naps first,

but he just won't do it. Does anyone have any suggestions to make laying down

more comfortable??

Hi, !|It is hard not to be able to sleep. I guess too many thoughts and worries makes it hard. Hope it will get better soon!|Cecilia From: "Goldstein@..." <Goldstein@...> Tim <bird mites > Sent: Sunday, June

I get into these moods where even when I am tired I can't sleep, especially if I have something going on the next day... it is just something I've had to live with since I've had Lyme Disease. Tomorrow is Father's Day here in the U.S. Bill, thank you for all the suggestions on killing bugs and spiders in the house. We've had a decrease for sure, maybe less than 10 spiders in the last 4-5 days. That is good for our place. So maybe the poison is working. Bill, if you are a dad, Happy Father's Day!

Hi

ps my gym teacher said , go run around the block till you can not run any more &

you will fall asleep. .Pent up energy needs to be released

Good news the spiders are down . Baking soda puffed everywhere dries out bugs

to a crisp , I walked barefoot in it & in 3 days my feet split in 40 spots

.....deep dried out splits that bled. ...Perfect for bug dehydration , it burns

the eyes to death also . .... Perfect for blind dried out crispy bugs ....

What kind of spiders are they ?

I wonder if flies or june bugs or afids or whatever bugs were kept in an

aquaruium & fed borax water only for 1 day , then released them into the webs ,

bingo ! dead spiders from poison bait .. It works for ants , 1 teasp honey &

1/8 teasp borax mixed & fed to ants kills all of the hive if you can find the

ants to feed it to.

God bless you

Happy Fathers day !

I think the type of spiders we are common garden variety spiders. We do have black widows in California, but these have no hour glass. We don't have brown recluse spiders. These are biters though... we've been bitten on 4-6 occasions. From: " Doe" <doe1769@...>bird mites Sent: Sunday, June 17, 2012 6:41:32 PMSubject: Re: Can't sleepHi Good news the spiders are down . Hi Ilike TreesI do take valerian every night and it does help, along with other sleep meds. Insomnia is common with Lyme Disease, Fibro and CFS. I've had a sleep disorder for years. All those teas are good suggestions. I have some of those teas (camomile) upstairs, but didn't think of it at the time. Fortuately, the insomnia at its worst does not happen too often. But I must remember the teas because they do help! Thanks for the reminder. I forget some of the most obvious things to help when the worst insomnia strikes! I've also found that when I stay up too late and ignore the time when I should go to bed, I get a second wind and then it is harder to go to sleep. I start yawning around 9 pm... really should go to bed then, but stay up to visit with my husband. From: "ILIKE TREES" <wherearetheangels@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2012 8:14:27 AMSubject: Re: Can't sleepHave u tried a .yantra mat..
