Hanger Band...Ask for Shear Ban to be put in the band!!!

When Grady recieved his Hanger Cranial Band the fit seemed to be great

but Grady had chaffing on his forehead so we had to take the helmet off

for a while. When his face looked better I put the band back on and it

did it again, we tried to baby powder and all that stuff but nothing

worked until we finally realized that whatever the band is made out of

might be too harsh for his skin so I cut a T-Shirt to fit the inside

front of the band. IT WORKED... Well, when I called Hanger they had

been checking all different ways to help this problem but when I told

them what I had done they said it was a great idea and they ordered

Shear Ban. This was cut and pasted inside of Grady's helmet and it is

made of a smoother material. He has had this on now for 3 weeks and is

doing great.

So, Hanger Band parents... ASK FOR SHEAR BAN... Why this is not put on

it in the first place, I do not know.

I agree! At Cranial Tech, it's called mole skin and it's like magic! I think the reason they don't make it standard its that it's sticky on the back and that would make for a mess when shaving the inside - and it has to be replaced each visit and can't be cleaned with alcohol.Everyone should know about this option though - thanks for sharing!
