Guest guest
Hi Yadvinder:There is not much that can be done for the head shape past two years old. There is an older plagiocephaly group on groups with parents who did not treat, and the plagiocephaly did not resolve. OlderPlag/ The other issue that you are speaking of is sometimes called Perseveration -- there are various forms of this (sometimes it's the same sentence that is repeated, for others, it's the same topic, or idea that keeps a child or adult interested). It varies in intensity, and really depends on the frequency to actually be seen perseveration.I would suggest that if it is really starting to affect his other social interactions -- that you might have a talk with your child's pediatrician and mention your concerns. Sometimes children just "stick" with something because they like it, but if the ideas/topics don't ever drop, even with attempted changes in subject by teacher or parent or other person, then this might be something that the doctor should know about so that he/she can help you help your child. It really depends on how often it happens, and the doctor can best assess this.By the way, Perseveration has nothing to do with plagiocephaly -- these two things are not related at all. Please feel free to email me if you have any additional questions. tnt@...Kind regards.mom to Quinn, born 11/99, DOCband grad 10/00 for scaphocephalic (long and narrow) head shape>------- Original Message ------->From : yadvindermittal[mailto:madhumittal2002@...]>Sent : 6/10/2008 10:05:12 PM>To : Plagiocephaly >Cc : >Subject : RE: can you advise me for my 9 & 1/2 year son>>hello allcan you advise me for my 9 & 1/2 year sonMy son has kind of a pressed head on right side/back not visibllyprominent due to hair but it is quiet a flat.........we kind of missed it till now and I dont find a major problem but heis kind of gets fixation on one topic - for example he is infatuatedwith paintings now a days for 3-4 months now...........I dont see a medical help but we want to do anything we canPLEASE ADVISEYadvinder MittalHOME: 001.250.747.0227iPHONE: 001.250.220.6989CELL: 001.250.255.7439 ------------------------------------For more plagio info
