Hi -

There are some repo success stories on our board but the majority of

active members did decide to band. If you haven't already, you might

want to check out the Older Plagio board and get their take on it.

There are many parents on that board that were never told to band or

dididn't band for one reason or another and are still living with

their regret. Their posts really motivated me to band my son even

though he was much older than was recommended, just to say I tried

what I could. Here is the link:

reasoning? Do you wish you had banded or are you glad you didnt band?

How has your childs head turned out from deciding not to band?

Hi ,

If you don't band you should still try aggressive repo - in other

words keep pressure off the flat part and put gentle pressure on the

prominent part (e.g. lay baby on that part of the head while resting).

However part of the decision to band or repo should be based on

severity of the head. If it is severe you are unlikely to get enough

correction from repo to avoid banding, so better to get started sooner

than later. If it is mild or mild-moderate you can try repo for a

while (2 mo?) and see how it is going. If you do repo taking good

pictures that show the plagio are needed, so you can see if you're

making progress. Top view often shows the shape the best.
