Guest guest
The sweating is very common in the first few days. Give him 5-7 days to regulate his body temperature. Until then, dress him lightly, maybe a onesie or jammies without feet. You can take the band off and rub his head dry with a dry washcloth and then put it back on.It took my daughter a few days to figure out how to get comfortable sleeping. For us, we found that using memory foam made the bed a little easier on the head (put it under the waterproof mattress pad cover, then entire length of the crib). Lyla ended up sleeping on her side, as the part around the ear rested easily on the mattress. We'd help here get situated on her side after we figured out she liked it.Hang in there! It does get better.Kindly,Sandymom to Lyla (9 months) - 12 weeks in DOC Band - graduated last week!and Owen 4 First day in Doc Band - Need some tips and advise hi there Finally we got our 7 month baby into band today. I can't say how bad I felt when they put band on his little head. I wish I had done something when he was diagnosed with plagio in his second month. Anyway, my baby is feeling very uncomfortable in the band from morning. He has been trying to take it off with his hands. I removed his band and checked for any red/pink spots. I see nothing but he is sweating a lot. His hair was all wet in just 3 hours. He has been sleepy from morning but could not sleep in his band. I could n't see him crying so I have it removed for now. I have some questions. How soon a baby can adjust or just forget he has a band on? Any tips to make them comfortable and forget about the band ? Also I need some tips to keep the baby cool.Is it common they sweat a lot on the first day ? Please advise. Eagerly waiting for all your valuable advise and experiences.ThanksChanda
Guest guest
Hi Chanda- I go to CT in Pasadena as well. I have found they are very helpful and understanding. You do not have to have a reason for the change in staff. If you call and handle it with little emotion and more of a client request, I am sure they will do what they can. You need to feel comfortable and as they say, it never hurts to ask. Nate gets pretty warm too so we just follow the same advise and take it off and wipe it down. Keep him only in his diaper if he is too warm, around the house I guess. I find the less I mess with his band, the better off he is. He was pretty comfortable with the band by the next day. Distraction is the key, pull out a toy and they seem to forget it quickly.
