Hi Art and ;

I mix one 50mg tablet of naltrexone with 50ml of water and keep it in the fridge. In Nov 2006 I started taking 3ml/mg per day. During the first 2 weeks I had several days when I felt nauseous, weak, and had a headache. Now I take 4ml/4mg per day (between 9 and 11pm) and have had just one day of flu like symptoms in the last 2 weeks.

I do remember a couple of posts describing these symptoms but never saved them. Now you have one to remember.

Carolyn, the only thing is at this stage I should not be having any new special

die off. My diet has been constant, my intake of oil of oregano, olive leaf, L

gluatmine and coc. oil is constant. Why would I all of a sudden be having die

off? I too feel that it is probably a virus as it seems to be moving through

stages. Then, on my lyme site they were mentioning that the azith could be

causing a herx. I am not sure if I even have chronic lyme any more unless it is

dormant but this could be a herx from that. Thanks for your input. Doug

Doug,

I assume you have had die-off before. How long does it typically run its course

for you? How has it manifested in your body? I ask because we are all so

different. Die-off for me is mostly constipation, headache, bloating and

fatigue.

Not everyone has really high fevers with the flu. It just depends on how your

heat regulation (hypothalamus) mechanism works. For example, I almost always get

a very high fever with a virus, but my husband's temp typically only gets to

around 99.9 or 100F.

If I had your symptoms, I would assume that I have some kind of 'bug'. Pay

attention to the symptoms over time and see if they align with the course that

die-off takes in your body.

Yep, you are right. The antibiotics didn't help and probably aggravated existing

candida.

Sorry I am not much help on this one.

began having virus flu symptoms. I did not think this was candida by any means

but wonder how would I know. I became tired, got a runny nose and congestion, a

passing headache, passing sore throat, and then the illness spread into my chest

and I felt nausea. I don't have high temps or the aches associated with the flu

so it is either a virus or candida. If anyone can shed more light on the

distinction between candida symptoms and a common virus please do. Obviously the

Azith is an antibiotic which has the bad effect on the gut. Thanks Doug

The " flu-like " symptoms that I have when detoxing from the gut fungus gone

systemic (and when I used to eat high carbs and had these bad symptoms *all the

time*), those symptoms encompass(ed):* chills* fatigue/exhaustion* brain fog*

increased need for PRObiotics and antifungals* (shown by more indigestion)*

lower immune function.

The gut-fungus symptoms never include(d):* fever* sore throat* runny nose*

nausea.

[i have been dealing with gut-fungus gone systemic for prob 8 or 9 years, maybe

Re: the antibiotic your are taking. You need to be taking PRObiotics to rebuild

the healthy flora that the antibiotics are killing. I would not even wait until

you finish the meds. I would take some probiotics now, but *not* at the same

time as ingesting the meds. ..To give the probiotics a chance to propagate in

the gut before the anti-stuff gets down there..

Also, the best results I have in rebuilding gut flora are taking the probiotics

on an *empty* stomach, and fasting for a minimum of 4 hours afterwards; again,

to enable the probiotics to have a chance to propagate without the hindrance of

digestive activity.

Hope this helps.Louise

I was taking Azithromycin for broncitis. On the 8th day of a 10 day stent, I

began having virus flu symptoms. I did not think this was candida by any means

but wonder how would I know.  I became tired, got a runny nose and congestion, a

We here in Baltimore, MD have been seeing a " bug " go around with the symptoms

you described to a " T. " I myself had quite a battle with it myself recently:

chills, low fever, exhaustion, congestion and chest pains, and nausea too. As I

know what detox does to me (sent in prior email), I knew immediately what this

was. [NOT detox; was a bug of some sort.]

I kicked it btw, with olive leaf, c's, goldenseal root, echinacea, zinc, bed

rest--and prayer!

Hope this helps.Louise

Doug, the more I consider everything you've said, the more I believe you have a

flu bug. There are different strains going around, and Candida (and the

bronchitis) further weakens your immune system so you are more susceptible to

these bugs. Let it run its course, and I bet in a week or so, you will start to

feel better.

I am with you, given your regime' and diligence, you shouldn't be having any

die-off now.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Kind Regards,

Carolyn

Louise, thanks, I think like you do this is a bug. I may add a couple of things

like the zinc and echinicea. I am wondering, do you or anyone else have

suggestions on how to handle excess mucous from the nose. I have decided,

agreeing with some doctors that is unhealthy to blow one's nose, I have tried

claritin and it does not take care of it so how does one handle the excess

mucous without blowing one's nose? Thanks Doug

Carolyn, I am a little confused now about one's different reactions to candida

and the phraseology. If I cheat, I get bloating and sometimes other queer

symptoms.  If I used something like Yeast Max 11 which is supposed to kill

candida then I guess I would get different symptoms( die off). I guess I was

wondering if there might be a third category, where you don't change to a bad

diet, but have to go on an abx, what symptoms that would typically cause.

Perhaps I am complicating things but I definitely think I experience different

symptoms from cheating on food versus using a stronger antifungal or kill-off

agent of some sort. Doug

Not a problem. Die-off for me very closely resembles " cheating " . That's why I

said it is probably different for individuals. I have made these observations

over about 2 years as I move through healing and regressing. Actually, I have

encountered several folks on various forums who have a similar history to me:

" die off / Herz and cheating are almost mirrored images of each other " .

Hope that clarifies my response.
