Guest guest
Diego has been in his Starband for 3 weeks now, on and off becasue of adjustments and now because he's been sick for the last 5 days. I'm still confused about when to leave the helmet off in the event of a fever. My Orthotist says that with a temperature over 98.6, the helmet should stay off, but he's not a Dr. The pediatrician says that anything under say 100.8 isn't considered a fever and the helment can stay on. Anyone have any experience or advice? Thanks! Cecily mom to Diego, 5.5 months, 3 weeks Starband
Guest guest
My advice is, don't overthink it. If your child seems much more comfortable without it on during the time he has a fever, leave it off. It's only going to be a day or two and it won't cause him any harm. At worst, it will delay his progress for a day or two.
