It does get better.....if your baby is super fussy, check teh band to make sure that it's not rubbing him funny in any areas, also make sure he's not to hot or to cold since the band does help to change their body temperatures.

did you have a break in schedule when you were fitted? What type of band is it?

My son is 5 months and has had the band on for 5days. He is doing ok but he is not himself. He does not sleep much and my Mom keeps him during the day and she is so uneasy with it. How can I make my family comfortable when I don't think I am comfortable with it. He is so fussy. DOES IT GET ANY BETTER?

He does have a schedule but we are at the end with the 23 on and

1hour off. He has a StarBand. It fits good; we went back on today

to get a new adjustment because his cheeks were getting really red.

He does get extremly hot now. This is new.

It does get easier. It's still the first week, and you should

hopefully see him return to his old self sometime during the second

week. Could part of his fussiness be him feeding off your unease and

the unease of your Mom? I think babies can sense when we are feeling

stressed or upset and may become stressed or upset themselves. You

kind of have to pretend like it's no big deal and there's nothing

special about it or him and typically, the baby completely forgets

it's even on. And so does the mom! (People would ask me about it and

I would have to take a second to comprehend what they were asking

because I was just so used to my son wearing it, I didn't think

anything of it). I hope things get better!

Good luck!

I just wanted to mimic what says here:

I agree totally on the possibility that your son can " feel " what you

are feeling. But mostly I totally agree with you getting used to your

baby wearing the helmet. He looks so different without it now (at our

bathtime) Im hoping he is as cute without his Superman helmet. (We

put superman stickers on!). :)

It helps to make a fun game out of it. We call it her silly hat and make a big deal about how much fun and silly it is. We're in week 3 and it's getting much better, She still hates us messing with her head, taking the helmet on and off. God forbid we adjust it! Once it's all the way on or off, she's fine.

Elaine 5+ months (helmet ~3 weeks)

Amelia 5 months
