Re: Using Helmet in Car Seat

We had to buy Zach a new car seat. He was outgrowing his infant carrier and it pushed his head foreward with the first helmet he had (Custom helmet from Advance Orthopro in IN). The Britax car seats although very nice were very expensive. It's a very nice car seat and after I took out the head insert and put in an air flow insert just to keep him cooler and help with the head shifting from side to side it worked great. My son is still a supported sitter and his head did fall foreward when he slept a bit but only until he learned to position himself in this seat. He was used to one that layed almost flat this one even when reclining is still pretty upright. We started using it when he was 7 months.

Zach is now in the DoC band btw because of all the issues we had with his first custom band. He's doing great with it and we are seeing improvement every day.lawoman1729@...Lou Ann Fugate
