I am so sorry. I am so glad to hear you ar enot ready to give up. Does that location do their own bands? Hopefully we have members who have used both locations and can share their experiences. We used a Hanger location that used the STARband in Missouri. We had a very experienced ortho and were very pleased with the results. Please keep us posted.

CT in ndale, VA or Orthoamerica in Columbia, MD

I am desperate for advice. My daughter Maysa has been in a helmet from Eastern Cranial Affiliates in Arlington, VA and I found out today that despite of the growth in her head circumference, she hasn't progressed a bit. As a matter of fact, she got slightly worse. Her ortho deceived us big time.

I am not ready to give up. My next two choices are CT in ndale, VA or Orthoamerica in Columbia, MD. Recommendations, PLEASE!

Thanks,

Leila

Oh my, what happened? That is unbelievable! I saw a photo comparison you posted a couple weeks ago and it looked like the right side was improving. I am so sorry to hear that happened to you. I would go with CT. There is absolute oversight and training so all of the clinicians have complete competency and experience with the DOC band. I think the Starband still depends on having a good ortho. Have you considered seeing an osteopath as well? It may help. From: Angie P <apope04@...>Subject: Re: CT in ndale, VA or Orthoamerica in Columbia, MDPlagiocephaly Date: Monday, October 13, 2008,

I will post Maysa's print out from Orthoamerica tomorrow when I am at work. You'll see what I mean. The pictures I posted show that she grew in the back (about 1 cm) but what you don't see is that she also grew on the sides (over 1 cm).

I still can't sleep...

Now what is an ostheopath? How could that be helpful?

Thanks,

Leila

Here's a good link on it. Basically an ostheopath is a doctor with further training on the body systems. You'd be best off looking for someone in the field of Cranial Osteopathy.
