Guest guest
Hi Cecily, Glad I am not alone!! McKenna's helmet also leaves a mark down the side of the " sideburn " part, but the marks do go away after a while. McKenna is also so fair that I think some marks can't be helped on her. I am just concerned it will make her eyes or eyebrowns uneven, because now her face is symmetrical it is really the back of head that there is any problem. How is Diego adjusting otherwise? How is sleeping going? McKenna can't seem to get herself back to sleep these past few nights- we will see!! Good luck! I hope our journeys are smooth ones!! Thanks for writing! Guest guest
Wow! There are so many of us that seem to be " starting out " together! It's so nice that this message board exists and we can all chat about it... We're on Day 7, and things seem to be going pretty well with Luke's DOC Band. The sideburn areas weren't as red today and neither was his forehead (I swear it was my fault not checking to make sure the alcohol had totally dried before I put it back on!). - I know what you mean about the facial symmetry thing - Luke definitely gets the " angry eye " that I've heard about on other boards! The band pushes his eyebrows down and he tries to look up at me and he's smiling but his eyes look mean! It's too funny! I don't think I've ever heard of a helmet/band actually causing an asymmetry, though, so I doubt we have anything to worry about there. My husband and I were already talking about what we'd do if Luke winds up needing another band after this one... I think we're jumping the gun a little, but I still worry that he'll need a second one if he grows out of this one too fast. What has your orthotist told you about your LO's and the possibility of a second band/helmet??? Good luck to all of you - keep posting! --jess --mom to Luke (Day 7 in DOC Band)and his big brother JT
