Wake Forest University School of MedicineDivision of Public Health Sciences DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SCIENCESAND HEALTH POLICY INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR AN OPEN RANK TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION: The Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina (http://www.phs.wfubmc.edu/public/home.cfm), seeks a scholar for an open rank tenured or tenure-track faculty appointment. Priority areas of interest include sexual health, HIV/AIDS, Latino health, women’s health, and/or community-based participatory research (CBPR). Applicants must have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, or public health. Experience in collaborative research in a multidisciplinary setting and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. All applicants must have a strong publication record for time in rank. Senior-level candidates should have a strong record of scholarship and evidence supporting their ability to secure and sustain extramural funding. Junior-level candidates must demonstrate the potential to become independent investigators. The candidate also will have limited teaching responsibilities within the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, as well as in the Clinical and Population Translational Sciences (CPTS) graduate program. The Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy consists of 14 primary faculty members and 11 joint faculty members holding primary appointments in other departments (e.g., Biostatistics, Communication, Epidemiology and Prevention, Pediatrics, and Sociology). The mission of the Department is to improve the human condition through the application of social sciences and policy research to health and health care. Recognizing that health and healthcare represent complex challenges, faculty and staff are committed to collaborative, multidisciplinary and translational approaches to research, education, and community involvement.
