Just want to thank everyone on this board who've posted and shared

their stories and anguish. My daughter just finished 10 weeks with

the DOC band and she's now only 0-1 mm off. She started off at 5

months at 7 mm difference. SHe is now a few days shy of her 7 month

birthday.

It hasn't been the easiest process for us unlike for some of you.

Reading this board helped tremendously in making sure I was doing the

right thing and to have patience with the people we were dealing

with.

I was so upset at first and somewhat upset throughout the process that

for a $3600 device that's supposedly custom made, it fit so poorly

around the ears. And I was pissed that it made her not want to look

up and they kept saying that was okay. But it's all over with now and

I don't regret for one minute the numerous extra trips I made to have

them adjust it better. She was happier in it after those extra

adjustments and so was I.

Btw, I should add to those worried about it that for one reason or

another, we never did leave it on 23 out of 24 hours. We cleaned the

helmet two times a day because it got sweaty/yellow and smelly

otherwise. So that put it out of commission 2 - 3 hours a day. And

due to heat wave, rash, etc, we sometimes took it off for that as well

and that would be an additional couple hours a day at least. Despite

all that, she made tremendous progress fast. So don't stress if you

have to take the helmet off longer than prescribed.

I'd post pics but I'm not good at that sort of thing and I also never

could see from pics the assymetry although in real life you could

definitely see it. I do have the measurement stats if anyone want to

see it.

Good luck to those just getting into the process.
