PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome. & nbsp; It's main symptoms are anovulation,

infertility, hirsutism and weight gain. & nbsp; But it is alot more involved

that I can even begin to tell you here. But thanks for asking! & nbsp; Are

you german by any chance?

It's PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome, which I was falsely diagnosed with shortly

before I became pregnant with this baby that's on my lap and eating my arm.

(She's four months old yesterday.) If I remember correctly, when a woman has

PCOS, her ovaries are constantly covered with cysts causing her to not be

able to ovulate. It also causes hormonal imbalances, or else the imbalances

cause the PCOS. Can't remember. But it's a vicious circle, has no cure, but

many women are finding improvement when they go on low carb, moderate

protein diets like the zone or atkins or CAD or Protein Power. It's also

characterized by obesity and hirsutism (male-like hair growth), lack of

normal menstrual cycles, infertility (naturally, considering), a tendency to

be insulin resistent and a few other things.

Janet,

I had my left ovary removed due to a cyst that took over. When they went in,

they removed several cysts off of my organs. In fact, I've had 11

misscarriages. They think in part due to a bicorniated uterus, I have two

sets of horns. I am also very diabetic during pregnancies. I've adopted all

but one of my children, a miracle baby.

friends who live in The Netherlands. When they visited us two years ago, our

granddaughter was almost a year old. They taught her to say Opa and Oma. So

that's what we are called all the time now. I've heard that in Germany it's Ope

and Ome, but they may be pronounced the same.

Wishing a good weekend to everyone!

, That site describes the conventional allopathic approach to pcos but

there is another approach that addresses the cause and doesnt use synthetic

hormones. This makes for healthier mother and baby.

then what you're saying is that PCOS goes away with thyroid hormones, which

are also allopathic in the grand spectrum.

Have just been diagnosed with PCOS and my gyno is sending me to an endo to be

put on Glucophage. I believe that BC pills are the old way of treating PCOS and

they have found that you must get high insulin levels under control to get

everything else working correctly.

Email me privately if you want to.

Does anyone have any experience with PCOS. The doctor says that my

only treatment option is to take bc pills. I understand that is a

big no no. So what does one do? Any comments to me personally would

be appreciated.

Don't know who you addressing this to, but Glucophage is a prescription drug for

insulin and glucose control that is used for Type II diabetics and off-label to

control excess insulin in women with PCOS and anyone with insulin insensitivity.

Don't know why you are so angry. I have been dealing with candida for over

twenty years and have just found the source of my troubles.

If you don't trust the information you got before, try someone else. It can

take lots of money and lots of time to get to the root of the problem, and I do

believe that everyone with candida has an underlying problem. I didn't have

insurance when I started this quest, just had the tests done as I could afford

them.

Like I said, it took me over twenty years to even find someone who would listen

and of all people I have tried, it was a regular MD. Did lots of tests and kept

plugging away until she found the exact problem, which is the PCOS, but until a

definitive test is developed, things have to be eliminated one at a time.

You know I hope they did?? She went through a lot of gyn's her first

year in school (and before) and they did 4 internals but that does

not mean they found anything--they did not do ultrasounds and that is

probably what you need to do to check the ovaries for PCOS. I keep on

hoping it's her low temps that have stopped her P.

I sent her all the symptoms of this illness to double check herself

when one of our posters mentioned it last time (can't remember who

right now) (PMS for me--ha! (?) But I realize that half of the

stuff I send she never reads or misses something important.

This is not good that she is not reading everything--too much to pay

attention to. But I think with studying so much she can't take it all

in.

I told her last night that I found that last quote on exactly her

condition with low tsh, low t4 and even lower t3--that she definitely

has hypo conditions whether her doctor thinks so or not--it was there

in black and white--she must be treated!

I have looked in hundreds of articles and there is was her exact

condition finally listed, I have talked with a researcher out of U.

of Colorado on his paper of negative reverse tsh readings and he

confirmed my thoughts on M.

The crazy part is that I have read this website (e-medicine) many

times and missed it. But looking it over again for someone else I

found M's condition listed except there is no name given for it.

Now she has to go to doctor who will read this and treat her

accordingly. tina

Hello,

I just took my first dose last night and am anxious and hoping that this will be the answer to my problems. I suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome and my doctor feels that this can possible help with this hormonal issue. Is there anyone out there with experience regarding pcos? I am so happy for those of you who are finding success.

Thank you,

Stefani

Hi Stefani,

I have been wondering how you have been doing with LDN and PCOS.

My daughter also has it. She might consider taking LDN for her PCOS. My husband is doing great with his MS and my mom seems to be doing well with Parkinson's and LDN.

Thanks for updating me.

My best

Aletha,

She's not trying to get pregnant or anything, just seeing if it seems to

help with her symptoms. It's probably been just less than a month she's

been using LDN and she feels it has suppressed her appetite a bit, which

with PCOS weight gains can only be a good thing. I noted with interest

the post the other day re PCOS and iodine as our family has a history of

thyroid related problems eg. an aunt had a huge goitre and my sister and

a second cousin have had thyroid cancer. I forwarded the link to my

daughter and wife.

(Polycystic ovarian syndrome)? or am I doing the wrong thing?

+++Hi . I had many cysts, both ovarian and bladder, and since curing my

candida I haven't had them.

Also see this article that discussed women's health issues, including PCOS:

+++Hi . We don't have any Success Stories at the moment, but I cured my

PCOS and stopped losing hair.

The fact is that health problems are only cured by providing your body with the

nutrients it requires so it can heal itself naturally - of course you must also

eliminate toxins and foods that feed candida, bacteria and even cancer (this

diet), and also eliminate toxins and damaging foods. If you follow Nature's

Fundamental Laws on health Nature will reward you! You need to believe in your

body's ability to heal itself IF you treat it right.

All the best, Bee
