Guest guest
My son is now 6 months old and has been diagnosed with plagio. After seeing 4 doctors we finally got a prescription. I guess I am just really torn on what to do. I want to cry every time I look at my baby's misshaped head. I want it to look perfect like every mother wants their child to look. I am really nervous about how my son will react to the helmet. I have heard that the first few weeks are really tough. We are scheduled for the scan next week and I am a nervous wreck! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Guest guest
I agree, that if looking at the shape of his head upsets you so much, you are doing the right thing. You basically have to ask yourself if it stayed that way forever, would it bother you, and it's apparent that it would. So why not fix it now? You are starting treatment at a great age and it should hopefully make his head nice and round. My son adjusted really well to the helmet, he slept in it the very first night with no problems. Not all babies are like that, but for the most part, they do adjust within a week or two. What kind of band are you getting and where are you located? Hopefully someone can share a specific experience with your ortho. I know it's upsetting now, but making the decision is honestly the hardest part (and/or getting a doctor to take your concerns seriously). I actually sighed in relief when they put the band on my son's head, I was so happy that we had finally gotten someone to listen to us and were doing something about it. I really think you'll be happy with your decision. Good luck! Jake-20m (tort resolved/rt plagio/DOCBand 15 weeks) Jordan-4 > > My son is now 6 months old and has been diagnosed with plagio.
