Guest guest
my now 8 year old son had brachy. I didn't know it at the time. I found out after my now 6 yr old wore a band for high moderate to severe plagio/brachy. Looking back at photos my son was very flat. But thankfully his did self correct quite a bit. BUt he did not have tort and was sitting, crawling and walking at an early age. So I think this is what helped his. I used to have photos of him in the photos section but think they have been deleted. Angie How many kids self correct? Is there current research? Does anyone know of research on the % of kids with plagio/brachy that correct without banding? So many doctors seem to think it will go away on its own, but of course we know that this is not always the case. I'm looking for follow-up studies of untreated babies. - (mom of Ethan, plagio/tort, STARbanded at 7 months)
Guest guest
I did some literature search a while ago, Here are the outcomes, see attachments (PDF files). One group did two year studies. one did five year studies. one compare helmet vs no helmet... I do not know how reliable those research are, but they were published by credible medical journal...
