Guest guest
Hi- my 6 mo. old son has been diagnosed with torticollis and plagio. Our pt referred us to Cranial Technology, as did our pedi. Unfortunately it is out of our network, but Star Cranial is in network. Can anyone give me the pros and cons to each facilty. I was strongly leaning towards CT until I found out how much it would be with out insurance coverage. I hate for money to be a factor, but unfortunatly it is. Thanks! Guest guest
Hello. The real key to getting good correction with ANY band is making sure that the Orthotist is experienced. As long as the Ortho you would be working with at the STAR facility is experienced with cranial bands and plagio, then I'm sure your little one will get great correction. The bands LOOK a little different (the DOC, by CT, weighs a little less and covers a little less of the head than STAR). However, both bands work the same way to redirect the growth of a baby's head. Good luck and keep us updated. Guest guest
Thanks! We are going to a STAR facility next week for our evaluation (we're in the Dallas area). I'm anxious to talk to the staff, and find out who would be working with my son. And I agree, as long as s/he is highly experienced, my worries will cease some. The whole situation with the insurance has just been so frustrating! I'm ready to find the right facility for us and move forward. Again, thanks for your advice!!!
