Guest guest
i guess i should read ahead, i just posted if anyone saw. i never watch but abc had a repeat i had already seen if ugly betty , nbc had an olympic sport i wasnt interested in and fox had football so i just tossed on tlc and laid down miami inkeventually came on but i couldnt hear too well so didnt hear what they said and couldnt find it on their site. i dont think it was a docband though as it only had a small round hole in the top, i had never seen a docband without the holding notch things on top except for a special band that covered the whole head (still dont know what that one was) with velcro on both sides On Thu, Aug 14, 2008 at 10:29 PM, Alix <acf1188@...> wrote: Hey everyone!I am watching an episode of Miami Ink on the channel TLC right now and a local plastic surgeon and his patient came in with what looked like a Doc Band. The dr asked if the tatoo artist could decorate the plane white helmet for his patient! I thought that was so cool & neat that I happened to be watching right then! I hope people will become more aware of these solutions for things like plagio soon. It would be nice to see shows about it to help inform people. I saw a post not too long ago and everyone was talking about getting the word out, so I thought I'd let you all know. The dr did explain it saying that the baby boy's head was born already fused together, which is not what the helmet is used for, and he didn't mention a diagnosis but it's a start!-AlixMom of Nicolas S. 8 months (starband about 4 months) -- SC SAHM to , , , , and
Guest guest
oh haha, no biggie. There really wasn't anything else on though or i wouldn't have been watching either! It was still cool though. The dr did describe craniosytosis? I'm pretty sure that's what it's called when the plates are already fused at birth. That's that one that requires surgery. And I was bummed that he didn't say it was plagio or anything! I only saw the velcro on one side but i wasn't paying that much attention the when they picked it up. My son has one with a hole in the top and on side velcro'd and his is a starband. I just thought it was a Docband because the Docbands that i've seen pictures of seem to have a bigger opening at the top. They didn't show the boy's head from the sides that i saw so it seemed like maybe it was for the sides to gain width. I didn't really notice much misshapeness. Did you see where his flattening was?--- On Fri, 8/15/08, Durocher <funwith4@...> wrote: From: Durocher <funwith4@...>Subject: Re: Helmet in an episode of "Miami Ink" on TLC...Plagiocephaly Date: Friday, August 15, 2008, 8:11 PM i guess i should read ahead, i just posted if anyone saw. i never watch but abc had a repeat i had already seen if ugly betty , nbc had an olympic sport i wasnt interested in and fox had football so i just tossed on tlc and laid down miami inkeventually came on but i couldnt hear too well so didnt hear what they said and couldnt find it on their site. i dont think it was a docband though as it only had a small round hole in the top, i had never seen a docband without the holding notch things on top except for a special band that covered the whole head (still dont know what that one was) with velcro on both sides On Thu, Aug 14, 2008 at 10:29 PM, Alix <acf1188 (DOT) com> wrote: Hey everyone!I am watching an episode of Miami Ink on the channel TLC right now and a local plastic surgeon and his patient came in with what looked like a Doc Band.
