Guest guest
We have Kaiser and our pediatrician did not think there was a problem but agreed to let us see a PT since our daughter was 6 months and not yet sitting. The PT confirmed the ear misalignment and flat spots and though she did not recommend the helmet (she said it was a mild case) she was supportive our decision to pursue one. Once we had her recommendation Kaiser gave us the letter authorizing the expense (80% covered). e (mom to Ava; 2 mos Hanger band)
Guest guest
Hello. You can get the prescription from your pediatrician, but most people end up seeing a specialist (either a pediatric Neurosurgeon or a cranial Facial Specialist) to get an opinion and get a presrciption for a band (if needed). I actually live near Reading, PA and we went up to town and saw Dr. sey (cranial facial specialist/plastic surgeon) at Aesthetic surgery associates to get the precription for my Daughter's band. You can email me if you would like more info on him. (my email is ronandjenvelez@ peoplepc.com (no spaces) You do still have time to try agressive repositioning. Though, with tort, repo can often be tough. We used Hanger and were very pleased with the correction. As long as the Orthotist is experienced with cranial banding and plagio, then you should do fine with Hanger.
