All,

Theresa mentions here it takes weeks to wear of a general anesthesia. Has

this been anyone else's esperience? As awful as the epidural sounds, I

would hate for that to be the case!!

I asked Dr. Rabkin if he does epidurals, and he clearly said no.

However, he said if you insist on it, he would not stop it. I jus

had total knee replacement and insisted on an epidural. I will assure

you that you feel a thousand times better post surgically, because

you are not having to wear off a general anesthesia...(which takes

weeks and immediately after surgery can make you nauseas as hell) but

also, you wake up from surgery numb, which you really wanna be!

Hope you and I become switch sisters...crossing my fingers.

Hi all,

Even though I mainly lurk around here, occasionally I have something to say!

The epidural that I had took about 7 weeks to totally wear off. At first I

thought that I had a disk problem. It wasn't unbearable--just very

uncomfortable. I couldn't sit in one position for too long without getting

this pinching pain in my lower back. (It was nothing that darvocett couldn't

take care of.) Every 10 minutes or so I would have to move. Even in my Lazy

Boy chair I would be shifting from one side of my butt to the other. My 7

year old grandson asked me one day if I had " ants in my pants! "
