Guest guest
Stacey, As for modge podge, I haven't used it. Stickers, on the other hand! I have found that the scrapbook stickers are easiest to work with. 1 - They remove soooo much easier. 2 - make sure that they aren't too big, smaller than a silver dollar. because they band isn't flat, they just buckle and don't wear or look nice. 3 - stickers without points seem to wear better. Rounded edges work best. 4 - I have found that most stickers only last two weeks, some less. try and find them on sale at s. Good luck! 8 1/2 mnths. DOC band since 5/15/
Guest guest
Mod podge goes over everything to protect it as long as possible (I changed my son's helmet design every 3 weeks). You can use it with just stickers, or paint, then stickers, then Mod Podge. Clear backed stickers work really well, even without Mod Podge. I did my son's band like a Tennessee Vols football helmet once, got stickers off ebay, and without Mod Podge or paint, the design lasted for almost 2 months. To remove any sticky residue, you can use Goo Gone, it will come right off. Have fun decorating! Guest guest
Stacey, I have found varish works best over stickers. I usually put 3-4 coats over them and they have last 4 weeks. It doesn't leave the sticky residue either. > > OK, so I read you can use Modge Podge for the stickers. Are you > supposed to put it on the band and then put the stickers on? Guest guest
Hi Stacey, I too have found that the varnish works great with the modge podge. I was instructed by one of the customer service people at s to apply the stickers directly to the band, then apply two coats of modge podge with a sponge brush, then two coats of varnish (which makes it nice and smooth/non-sticky). The original stickers have been on my daughter's band for 2 1/2 months! It worked great. She graduates from her band next week, so I only had to decorate once. Enjoy decorating!
