Has anyone here dealt with Dr. at Vanderbilt? His

education seems wonderful, but when I went in after the CT he literally

felt thier heads for like a split second and said they need them for 6

months and then it was straight to cost and insurance. I emailed the

company who will be doing the casting to find out which band will be

used and am waiting for a reply. I didn't realize how short the

consultation was until I read many sites and posts. I feel like a bad

parent for not asking more q's and demanding more info. I was

expecting him to say they needed the helmets and once he stated that

and scared me about brain growth, we were done. Has anyone else had

this experience or felt lost in this fight?

We, unfortunately, have had a working relationship with Dr. for over 2 years now. Our now almost 3 y/o son had craniosynostosis that required surgery and currently our 8 month old is in a helmet for mild cranio that we caught very early. What we have learned from spending countless hours with him is that he is very good at what he does and will take the time to answer questions if you ask them, but otherwise , he gets right to the point.

If you have questions that you've thought of since, you can always call and ask to speak with someone. His surgery days are Tuesday and Thursday, so if he doesn't get back to you right away, that's probably why.

We've also had very positive experiences so far with the orthotists he refers to.

Please feel free to message me if you want to talk privately.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions I can or just be a sounding board...
