How long before a second band?

Hi. My son will be casted for his Doc Band (in Paramus) next week. He

has a moderate case of plagio and right tort (he's in pt - 3x/week).

At CT they said that he has a moderate case but b/c of the tort it will

be like treating a severe case. He will be 5 months when he actually

gets the band.

It looks like CIGNA won't be paying for it, so I am trying to do some

financial planning. Has anyone in a similar situation had to get a

second band and if so when/what age was your child when they needed a

second band? The folks at CT won't answer b/c it depends on the

child's growth etc, but I need to get an idea so I can figure out the

money part. Any insight would be greatly apprectiated.

PS - the insurance section of this group is fabulous.

Yes, similar case but my son was 5 1/2 months before he got his first DOC band. He did end up needing two. His plagio was corrected to borderline mild/moderate with the first band (which he wore from 5 1/2 months - 9 months). He got his second band at 10 months because it took us . He has been in it for 9 weeks so far and we've already seen quite a bit of improvement.
