Guest guest
Peggy, Glad you made it through the MRI OK. They really aren't much fun. I hope you find some answers about your leg as well. Let us know what Dr. Graham has to say. kam
Guest guest
Good morning all, I wanted to pass on the results of my recent MRI. First, my background: I have RRMS I started LDN about 1.5 months ago. I had a few major stress events in Sept 06 and had been on a downhill slide between Sept and Dec. I went to the Neuro and we decided to do an MRI to see what was going on. Couldn't schedule the MRI until last week, and in the meantime, I had started LDN around Christmas. The first two weeks on LDN was fairly rough for me...restless sleep, heart palpitations, and a weird sense that my heart was beating harder throughout my entire body. Some symptoms had worsened as well...hands and feet were more numb than usual and I was close to giving up on it (I started at, and have remained on 4.5mg). After about 2 weeks my sleep eventually got better, he symptoms began to subside back to pre-LDN levels and most importantly, my energy and focus levels were at a level that I can hardly remember having...no more naps needed throughout the day, and I was really able to concentrate a lot better. My heart rate seems back to normal and I don't have that feeling that my poor heart is being overworked. I even checked my blood pressure because I was so paranoid about it, but it was 105/80 so fairly normal. ANyway, my neuro called yesterday with the results of my MRI. I was absolutely certain that my MS had progressed based on how I had felt only a few weeks earlier, but much to my surprise, he said that 2 of my 3 lesions had disappeared!!! The 2 in my brain are gone and the one in my spine is still there, but inactive. I have no idea if this is attributable to LDN since I had only been on it for a little more than a month, but regardless it was very good news. In fact, I'm a little dumbfounded. It was the last thing I had expected to hear. I have a question for those folks out there who have seen similiar results...when lesions have gone away, have you noticed that it is primarily the brain ones that disappear, or have people had experience with spinal lesions going away also? I'm wondering if the LDN is more effective on certain areas over others. Again, not even sure it's the LDN, but I will most certainly stay on it...I feel better than I have in years and highly recommend that folks who are on the fence at least give it a try, and come back to the chat board for support during the difficult periods as you begin the drug. Good luck all!! Bobbi
