teach parents to look for the early signs of Torticollis which they may miss altogether. This is what leads to alot of plagio, the child not being able to turn their neck and head in all direction equally leads to favoring one side and thus having the baby not more much during sleep or in bouncers because it hurt to go to one side or the other. This is what creates a bad flat spot.

Also, push for hospitals to give more info on Plagio. They make us all watch the shaken baby video before we leave why not a plagio video about repo and tort and the signs and symptoms. Mabye just a pamphlet that we must sign that we read.

Good luck and be brave, you are doing this great service and will help other mothers and babies. Tammy

I would say - if you're doctor says don't worry, or it will round outon its own, they could be wrong. You should reposition your child offthe flat spot, and research plagio on your own... Also if the flatspot is severe banding early is the best way to ensure it is corrected.Break a leg :-)-christinesydney 2 yrs starband grad>> So we are going to do the segment! i just would like some feedback.... > If there was one thing that you think i should not leave out or > something you think i should most def. bring up during the interview, > what would it be? I second the wonderful ideas that Tammy posted. I am a first tinme mom who took just about every class offered by Kaiser in my area. Not once during my entire preg or postpardum did I ever hear of torticollis or plagio. I had an assisted delivery (forceps and vaccume). My son was at risk for a misshappen head, I feel like he should have been screened by a specialized at birth and each month therafter. This would have been dx earlier and pehaps he would not be getting a helmet. The hossie staff and peds should be more than up to speed at this point about torticollis and head shapes. They use the bak to sleep campaign as an excuse. The

back to sleep campaign has been around for many years!!!!!!! When are they going to get it? Thanks for what you are doing.
