Guest guest
Help! My son is 11 weeks old and I believe he has positional plagiocephaly. A good friend had this experience with her son last year, so I am pretty familiar with the signs and symptoms. My pediatrician, however, is rather conservative and doesn't even want to broach the subject of treatment until my son is at least 6 months old. I disagree and would like a second opinion, but before I begin combing the city for another doctor, can anyone recommend a pediatrician who is less conservative and might be more willing to write us a perscription? I have a consultation appointment at Cranial Technologies in San Diego in August and would love to be able to begin the process while we're there. Thank you! Guest guest
We lived in Redwood City when my daughter got her band. We had Kaiser insurance and got a referral to their cranial facial specialist (Dr Menard in Santa Clara). We got our starband from CIRS in Palo Alto, and CIRS also has an office on Oakland. If you really want to go to Cranial Tech you would have to travel (LA, or San Diego). However you might want to call CIRS and ask them if they work with any peds in your area - since presumably they would be band-friendly. I agree waiting until 6 mo doesn't make sense. My daughter was referred to a specialist at 4 mo and got her band at 5 mo. I would even have liked to start sooner. Good luck with everything and let us know how things go. -christine sydney 2.5 yrs starband grad > > Help! My son is 11 weeks old and I believe he has positional > plagiocephaly.
