Welcome -

I am in Raleigh and actually take my son to CT in Charlotte. I did

consider UNC's Brace Shop (they do the STARBand) but chose to commute

to CT after having evals at both (UNC was nice but my son was 16months

old and CT had way more experience treating older babies). At the

time, I was under the impression that CT was the only banding option

in Charlotte, but have since learned that there is also a STARBand

provider at a place called Level Four Pediatrics. Here is the website:

http://www.levelfour.us.com/index.aspx

There is also a Hanger band provider in Charlotte, but unfortunately,

I don't have the information on that one. You might just have to do a

search of the online yellow pages for Hanger Orthotics and hopefully

it will come up. I do know of at least 1 parent who goes to Level Four

and is happy with them. I, of course, highly recommend the DOCBand and

CT ( is our therapist and he is wonderful), but also understand

the issue with insurance. CT was also out of network for us but we

still had coverage at 75% (I have BCBS of NC federal employee program,

so it's a little different than regular BCBS), and I felt strongly

that it was our best option, so it wasn't a huge hardship.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
