Guest guest
Hi everyone- I hope that everyone has as many concerns/questions in the beginning as I do! I put my DS down for a nap- his first one in the band on day 3. I checked in on him and he is face down.....I am just curious if that is because it is his first time or does anyones little one sleep like that all the time? Gosh I hope he doesn't I don't like his face down in the bed like that- I was hoping he would roll onto his side. Thanks! Kristy Zachary - 10 months tomorrow :)Day 3 in Starband
Guest guest
Kristy, My son Gavin, also 10 months, sleeps with his face down every night and his little bottom up in the air! He started doing it around 3 months when he learned to roll over. I use to check on him 3-4 times a night because I was so worried with his face buried in the mattress that he couldn't breathe. He insists on sleeping this way, I've tried rolling him on his side and he just flips right back over. I asked my pediatrician about it and she said it's actually pretty common for babies to sleep this way, and if they are sleeping good there isn't much you can do. I always have my baby monitor on so I can make sure I can still hear him breathing. Good luck! >> > Hi everyone- I hope that everyone has as many concerns/questions in the> beginning as I do! Guest guest
My son Owen who is also 10 months old sleeps the same way. I just think that it is a comfortable position for them in the band. Good luck and don't worry! Owen 10 months, 10 weeks in Starband Evan 5 years old > > > Hi everyone- I hope that everyone has as many concerns/questions in the > beginning as I do! Guest guest
Hi Kristy, My son (also named Zachary:) sleeps face down too. He has been in the DOC band two months now and is getting it off this week:) At first I was nervous too but the PT said that if it hurt him in any way he would not sleep that way. Sometimes his eyes are a little puffy in the morning from sleeping like this but the swelling goes down. I am worried that when he does get the band off he might miss sleeping that way since the band lets him breath since the helmet kind of hold his head up. I hope this helps!
