Guest guest
My son Owen has been in his Starband for 10 weeks now. We noticed considerable improvement in the first 6-7 weeks, but the past few weeks we have noticed nothing. The ortho said not to worry, but I am feeling pretty dicouraged. I was hoping he would be graduating at 12 weeks. I know that head growth isn't occurring all the time, but still I wish I saw some changes. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Owen 10 months, 10 weeks inStarband Evan 5 years old
Guest guest
My daughter wore her starband for 21 weeks - ugh. At the time it seemsed like forever, but now I barely remember it. I was hoping we would be done after 4 mo, and was ready to stop by our ortho and doc recommended continuing and we got a lot more correction. So even it it goes beyond 12 weeks try not to get discouraged. This is really the only time you can help reshape the head, and the early estimates are really not accurate since babies decide when to grow. -christine sydney 2.5 yrs starband grad > > My son Owen has been in his Starband for 10 weeks now. Guest guest
It is not unusual to go through different periods of growth. My son had a huge growth spurt the first five weeks in his band but then we went 9 more weeks with almost no change. We had another growth spurt in the last 6 weeks in the band and graduated after a total of 20 weeks in the band. Yes, we all hope to be out of the band in 12 weeks but it seems that with the STARband that is rarely the case especially since it can be worn for a maximum of 6 months. So, don't give up, you will probably hit another growth spurt soon.
