Guest guest
My daughter has been wearing her cap for a week. While it's on, we've had no problems. She seems to tolerate it well. When we take it off, however, she scratches at her scalp continually. I've got her dagger-like fingernails clipped as short as I can, but she still is doing major damage. She's got bleeding scratches all over her little noggin. We went for our first adjustment of the helmet today and I asked the orthotist about it. He asked if she has been pretty sweaty when we remove the cap. She has. He said that the itchiness is caused when the sweat is drying really fast when we remove the cap so we should have a wet washcloth handy and immediately wipe off her head. I tried that twice this afternoon and it didn't seem to help much. Does anyone know if the itchiness will get better? Any other thoughts on how to help her with this problem? Thanks.
