Guest guest
My son Christian graduated from his Doc band today!! Whoo-hoo!! I am so excited. He was originally diagnosed with left plagio and torticollis. After 12 weeks of wearing the band and doing stretches we are done. Although, we will continue to do the stretches for his tort. Today was our last appt and I am so stoked. Christian's head looks great and we got the band off just in time for his 1st birthday. He turns 1 on July 25th. Christian originally measured at 18mm of asymmetry and he is now down to 6mm. His standard deviation was at a .5 and he is now down to a .18. The PT doesn't think he would benefit from another band. The area where his 6mm of asymmetry falls makes it very unnoticeable. I can't wait to kiss my son's head while I rock him to bed tonight. I want to thank every member on this plagio group. You have all been so extremely helpful and encouraging. The first day Christian received his band I was literally in tears for fear of what he would have to endure. I struggled and struggled with my decision but deep down knew it was the best thing for him. I didn't want the stares and people feeling sorry for him or looking at my son like he had a disability. Turns out he did great from day one and I was the one who needed to deal with it all. Our babies are way stronger than we give them credit for. For all of you mommies and daddies who are struggling with the decision to band or not to band..I highly recommend doing it. It goes by so fast and the results are phenomenal. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Good Luck and God Bless!
