Guest guest
Who do you have for insurance? We have Kaiser and saw a great specialist at the Kaiser in Santa Clara - Dr. Menard. If you are looking for a local band provider there are two locations in the Bay Area: PALO ALTO: Center for Independent Rehabilitative Services, Inc. Bob Paterson, CO Amy , CPO 3260 Ash Street Palo Alto, CA 94306 650-462-0102, FAX 650-462-0107 Email: amynfoster@... Email: bobco1238@... OAKLAND: Center for Independent Rehabilitative Services, Inc. Trish , CO 430 40th Street Oakland, CA 94609 510-653-9834 Email: tcollins22@... They can also do an evaluation for you. Perhaps if you get an evaluation done and it shows how severe your child's head is then you can show the report to your ped to convince him to write the prescription now. You can also call either office and they might be able to give you the names of some band-friendly doctors in San Francisco. Molly Novato, California Nicolas, 2.5, tort & plagio, STARband (CIRS Oakland) 4/24/06-9/12/06, Graduate! , 5 , 8.5 Referral in San Francisco Help! My son is 11 weeks old and I believe he has positional plagiocephaly. A good friend had this experience with her son last year, so I am pretty familiar with the signs and symptoms. My pediatrician, however, is rather conservative and doesn't even want to broach the subject of treatment until my son is at least 6 months old. I disagree and would like a second opinion, but before I begin combing the city for another doctor, can anyone recommend a pediatrician who is less conservative and might be more willing to write us a perscription? I have a consultation appointment at Cranial Technologies in San Diego in August and would love to be able to begin the process while we're there. Thank you! ------------------------------------ For more plagio info
Guest guest
Thanks for all of the info. We have Health Net - Brown and Toland Medical Group. So far I've discovered (even without a refererral yet) that CIRS does not accept our insurance and they won't suggest any doctors for us either. It may not matter because we may have to pay out pocket anyway. CT in San Diego will be doing a free consultation for us and I plan to take that info to our 4 month Pediatrician appt. Does anyone have any experience with UCSF Orthotic & Prosthetic Center on Parnassus? They also provide the STARBand. I have yet to see if they will accept our insurance. Cecily San Francisco, CA Diego 11 weeks, so far just a flat head Thanks!
