Guest guest
My son just started sitting up when were in the process of getting his helmet. He is now sitting up just fine. The helmet actually made it easier on me because I felt comfortable letting go of him because the helmet protects his head :-) I did have to get a new carseat after my son got his helmet. He was already getting close to needing one but he just looked very uncomfortable with his helmet in that tiny carrier. We got the Britax Marathon and love love love it. It is expensive but I did my research and this one was rated very good among other users. I use the icepack on hot days and it is very helpful. Chrissy Mom to Dylan 7 1/2 months STARband 1 month Questions, I've got questions. Do any of you feel that your babies who have started wearing bands prior to sitting up on thier own have had a harder time with getting to that milestone because of the band? is still in the carrier/carseat but getting to a weight (she's 4mos and 16lbs now) that I was thing of switching to her regular carseat. Are the bands to cumbersome for the carrier/carseat thingy's? Did it make any of you switch? One more....in the summer heat do all the bands require you to do the ice pack with the recieving blanket cooling technique or is it for the Docbands specifically? I'm sure I'll have more to come. thanks for your help!
Guest guest
Thanks for all the info. We have a Britax from my son who is now in a booster seat so I guess I will make the change before next Wed. The really are the best car seats. Glad to know they are good with the bands. Guest guest
FWIW, we did not make the switch from the infant carrier - DS is almost 7 mos and 18 pounds, and we've been in the DOCBand for 5.5 weeks. He does get sweaty if we're out for a long time, so if we're running errands I make sure to carrier him (usually in a Moby Wrap) rather than putting the carseat on the SnapnGo so he gets to cool off a little. I've never hear of the cooler pack/blanket trick though - can you elaborate? In this heat I'm open to ew ideas to eep him cool! -A > > Thanks for all the info. Guest guest
I was just looking for where I found it on here but there is an info sheet about how to keep the car seat cool with one of those big blue ice packs sitting in the seat if its parked in the sun with a recieving blanket over it. It was from the Doc Band peeps and it ever stated not to put the band on the baby for the ride home if you hadn't done this. I was wondering if that goes for the StarBand too since that is what we will be using. If I find the file I will post the link for you. Guest guest
Thanks for the link - I'll definitely try that trick! In fact, it gets so hot here I might have to put one on my seat too! > > > > > > Thanks for all the info.
